Tea Time!

My Lanna girl and I love anytime that we have to get all dressed up fancy. 

At church a few weeks ago we had a Ladies Brunch, and we were each to wear a hat. So Lanna and I look it just one step farther. we needed Gloves and all!:)

 I had looked everywhere for a hat and just couldn't find one. I hit a garage sale the day before and found this beauty.  I know that it's a "red hatters" hat. but when it's a $1 and the event is tomorrow... you go with what you have, and add a nice bright flower to the side! :)

 We had a blast at our little Brunch and Lanna loved some " Mama time."

Anniversary Getaway!

The Lord has blessed us with 7 wonderful years of marriage back in July,  My Sweet Hubby planned a great getaway for us to Lancaster PA. a few weeks ago 

We had a great time just being together, talking and enjoying the country side.

We hit some fun shopping places too.

One was the Kitchen Kettle Village  It was a blast, Little shops everywhere, Quilt stores, Candle stores and Jon said he even enjoyed shopping there! So you know it was good. ;)

My favorite place in the village was this place.    

They had lots and lots of primitive and home decor. I think I could of taken it all home with me if everything was free. :)

We even loved the lay out of the store so much that we talked about building our home like it some day!

We loved to see the differences in the Dutch Amish and our Amish here in Garrett Co.

 Jon had planned a Covered Bridge Tour for us. Oh my I Loved it!!!
Seeing all the old bridges and the countryside as we drove all over to find them was amazing!

Our Sweet Little Quinn! It was a joy to just have one of our kiddos with us. He is such a good baby.

We had a delightful time and look forward to going back many times in the very near future with the kids. One of the fun pluses about where we live is that we drive through Gettysburg to get the Lancaster. so we get to hit 2 great places in one weekend! :)

A Sunday Afternoon!

A few weeks ago after long Sunday afternoon naps we went on a walk. It was a beautiful afternoon just  for doing this kinda thing.

Going Going Gone!

This summer has just gone by way way tooooooo fast.  I'm not so sure I'm ready to see it coming to a close.
I've enjoyed my little sunflower patch ( Garden that flopped) very much. 

It was a joy to watch them as they always had their little beautiful heads turned towards the sun, It was often a reminder to me of what my heart should be always be heading towards!

1st Week of School!

I started a new journey this week, one that I've dreamed about for years, but always thought that that it was years away. Not so much!
My 1st baby boy is 5 years old, and with that comes school...  Homeschool!!!

Our first week of Homeschool went really well. we had lots of fun learning.

The whole time I was doing school with the kids my sweet little Aiden was destroying our house. it from clean to MESSY in just a few minutes!

When I asked Aiden what he wanted to be when he got big like Daddy he said " Me."  :) such a CUTIE!

So on to Week #2 of our new Adventure we go. the kids are super excited about what they are going to learn this week!
 If you have any advice about how you keep your younger kiddos out of big trouble while you do school I'd love to hear about it. Thanks so much!!

The Blessings Of Others!

This year our poor little garden did just about nothing, and I thought it might cause if my lack of time to be out there in it all the time with Baby Quinn and all! But the Lord has made sure that we are not lacking any veggies around here.
 We have been so blessed by our friends and church family with every kind of veggie you can think of, so much so that I've done lots of canning this summer.
 Here is just one day of the fun.

Summer Squash! 

I'd  never heard of canning squash before, but with all these beauties I set out to find a recipe that we could use.
It's Pickled Squash. we like the little bit that we tried before we canned it. so I'm really excited to have it this winter when the snow flies!

We've also done beets and pickles and 4 kinds of jam. and put some other fun stuff in the freezer too!
Its been a blast for the kids and I to get to do this much canning and freezing this year. we are sooooo blessed. I've had fun learning to, as we are given new veggies that I've never canned before.
Still to go on the canning list is... tomato juice, salsa, corn, apple sauce, apple butter, apple pie filling and veggie soup. If I have lots of tomatos We just might try spaghetti sauce. I've been wanting to for a few years now, but never really had time or the energy to do it. and  you know, with school starting Monday I just might not get that whole list in. We'll see!
I'd like to try Chow Chow/ Last of the Garden. But I think I just might be the only one in our family that will eat it. so maybe in a few years I'll give it a try. :)

I've got " Fall fever"  pretty bad already! with these cool evenings, all I want to do is relax and have camp fires! But we still have a few more weeks of summer to enjoy. and I know that right behind fall comes winter and I'm not wanting to rush into that just yet!
