Christmas Home Tour "2013"

Good Morning!!!!
With our family and friend's far away at the Christmas season I love to do a little "Home tour" so they can see the fun of our home.

Welcome to our porch!

 Come on in!

This year we have 3 Big Trees and 3 little, it was so fun to decorate with the kids this year. My Sweet Hubby laughed and said " I went to work with fall décor up and came home to Christmas!" we love the Christmas season so we decorate just a bit early. like the end of Nov. :)

I just had to add one with this little cutie! :)

I just love my new hutch! it was super fun to decorate!

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!
With Christmas just a few days away, we are thankful for the Gift of God's Son Jesus!
and that He came to die on the cross for our sins.
Don't get too caught up in the THINGS of Christmas that you miss out in the joy of celebrating The Christ Child!

 Merry Christmas!

Reusable Gift Bags!

Hello!

With Christmas just around the corner I was busy wrapping gifts and ran out of wrap! I didn't have many gifts to go and I didn't want to buy more wrap at full price.(  I know I'm cheap!) So what did I do but run to my scrap tub.
I was so excited to experiment with what I had and the outcome was fun, and very much of a money saver. :)

So here is what I started with.

I doubled the length that needed and put the right sides together and pined it up!
Just sew across the bottom and up the sides remembering to back stich. :)
I don't sew as much as I use to, and so I couldn't remember how to do the corners, but it quickly came back to me.

Check to see if it looks ok and then Cut off the extra!

It depends on way you want your top finished. but for this one I just turned it made a little hem.
 .

There you have it !!! ( I think the tag took me longer to make then the bag. )
It took all but about 5 min. : ) I was super excited and now if the receiver of the gift wants to reuse it they can . :)

30 Min. later this is my finished  project!
8 gifts bags that all came from my scrap tub. all I need to add is the jute or a Christmas Ribbon!

So even if I was to go buy Gift Bags at the Dollar Store. I still would of spent over $8. but all 8 of these came to about $1 and a little but of time. :)

Have a Delightfully Blessed Day !
Christmas Day is just 15 days away. My Kiddos are on the count down, We are having our family Christmas on Saturday and they can't wait. :)

I Am Blessed!!!

I'm so sorry that I have been gong for so very long.
Life was in a spiral that last few months it seems to just keep getting faster rather then slowing down.
But the Lord has worked so much in my life in that time that I wouldn't trade it.
Back in July the Lord blessed us with another " Little Treasure" we we're thrilled and excited!
We really were not planning or trying so it was a HUGE joy. but just a few weeks later in Aug. the Lord chose to take our 5th "Little Treasure" to heaven to be with Him.
It was more of a trial then I ever dreamed that I would walk through. At the point of losing the baby I wasn't sure of where the baby had gone, it was one of those things that I really never thought about." When you miscarry what happens to the baby's spirit"???
I prayed and prayed about it, sought godly counsel. and finally the Lord just gave me His sweet peace in knowing that the baby was with Him.
I'm NOW thankful to have walked that road, so that in the future I can morn with those who the Lord make take down that same path. So thankful for a Savor who loves me and carried us through.

So all that to say I'm Cherishing each second the Lord give us with our 4 Little Treasures and trusting that He will bless us with a few more in the future. :)  YES I said a Few. :)

I want to share with you just a few shots of our Treasures from this Fall

I'm so smitten and Blessed!
We now have the internet at home. so Lord willing I'll be updating much more often, and I still have a review and giveaway for you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Carra

What Have I been up to?

This week has been full of little projects. Like... going through tubs of kids clothes in the basement to sell on our Garage Sale site. making cloth napkins, and who can for get laundry!
But I think my most favorite project of all was this one.
Here's my little story to go with it.

I love Pottery Barn Kids Quilts, I have for years, not so much for the name. but the quality of the quilts themselves. I had been watch this adorable set for a while now for the boys room. but I could never bring myself to spend $99. each for them.

I just love it.!
This weekend I got to go Garage Sales in a town nearby.  And guess what I found?  This adorable Queen size quilt for only $8. I originally bought it for Jon and I's bed. but after getting it home I didn't just " Love It " like I thought that I would.

So guess what ???? It got a make over and a new home.  The Boys Beds!

So I Cute it up the center and rolled down the two sides and pined it.

And  30 min later...there you have it!!! I love it.

I never would have thought that I would like as much as the Pottery Barn ones. but you know what I DO! It's just what we needed to and all for $8. I'm going to make them some fun pillows out of the shams that came with in the near future. :)
So I guess the Thrifty side of me came out again. I can't help but praise the Lord for a good deal, and for a fun project for our boys. They just loved it. the back side is really soft. and Aiden loves that. :)
So there's my Quilt story for ya!

What have you been up to this week? I'd love to hear form you. :)
I'll try and post tomorrow about the cloth napkins that I got finished as well.
I'm starting a new journey for our family towards being a " Paper Free" Home. and I'll post on that in the very near future.

Till me meet again, Have a blessed day!

We cherish each time that we get to be with them. We just can't get enough.

The Kiddos love being with them. It's lots of lovin and huggin.
Looking forward to the days when we can be together with "Aunt Achel and Uncle Dane".

We Spend lots of time Enjoying Folly Beach!!

Lanna met a new friend  "Maymay" She was a Sweetie. it was fun for Lanna to have a little Girls Friend to play with!

Just down the beach from us some guys were building an awesome sand castle and so they let the kiddos join in the fun. It was huge by the end of the day. the Kiddos had a blast.

We also got to go to a Fire Safety Expo. It was a really good time for the Kiddos to learn about fire safety! they had a blast getting to climb on the fire truck!

You have heard my talk about Life Action the Ministry that Jon and I traveled with before we were married.
On our way home to got to stop in NC. and visit precious friends that we traveled with, and meet their 5 precious Kiddos. It was way, way to short of a visit, but it was so good to be together with the Wallace's!!!

Our nice little "Timer" Shot of all of us!

We had such a good time. we hated for our little time away to be over. but looking forward to doing it again REALLY soon. Each time we head South it calls our name a little louder. We need us some Southern Living!!!
