Garage Sale Season!!

I've over joyed that Garage Sale Season is here!
If you have been with me long you know just how much I love garage sales. and how the Lord always provides awesome clothes for our kiddos at a forth of the price. whats not to like about that???

So this morning I'm going to share just a about about how to have a Successful  Garage Sale.

Here's some of my tips that I use!
  1. Invite the neighbors! Neighborhood or community sales are much more fun!
  2. As you find items to sell, make sure everything is in clean and good working order. If it's dirty, wash it! and price as you go!
  3. Check the ordinances in your city to see if you need a permit to hold a garage sale. Some cities, like mine, do not require them but many close by do. They have rules governing how many sales you can have per year as well as how many days in a row. Don't risk ignoring the ordinances and getting shut down in the midst of your sale.
  4. Choose a date with family members so you'll have the assistance that you need with the kiddos. it's hard to keep an eye on the kiddos and do a sale!. Most sales are on Friday and Saturday and some are just Saturday. . I  like to have 3 day sales starting on Thursday and ending on Saturday.
  5. Choosing a start time is important. I like to open at 8 and close at 5, but Sat. just till 2. Think through a rain plan. what you will you do if it rains? Some people have it anyhow, if it's all contained in a garage. Die-hard garage-salers go to sales in the rain. :)
  6. When pricing your "treasures", think of prices you would like to see if you were shopping at a garage sale. The lower the price, the faster it will sell, the more money you make and the less you will have to pack up at the end of your sale. Nobody likes packing up the leftovers. A good rule-of-thumb for pricing is 1/2 to 1/3 of retail prices.
  7. Mark your prices large and clear on each tag and try to place your tags in the same spot on each thing.  ie..on Clothing... right by the collar on the right. and so on.
  8. have a  “free box”. Everyone loves those!
  9. Do not put eBay auction pages on your merchandise or tell people how you can sell it for more on eBay. Your garage sale is not an auction. No one cares what it sold for on eBay. If you can sell it for more on eBay, then you do it! :)  (Sorry just a pet peeve of mine. :)
  10. Advertise in your local newspaper, There are lots of Facebook garage sale pages, just ask around for one in our area, and post clear signs. make sure that you can read the Address from 15 feet away! when your driving in the car you need to be able to read it quickly as you go by! use arrows as well!
  11. Add balloons, streamers to your sign to catch attention. Do the same on each sign. that way if there are 2 sales in the same area they will know witch is yours. :)
and too, the ladies that come to ours always know to look for the smiley face balloons from the dollar store! They last all weekend and you don't have to add new ones each day like you would if you just used normal balloons, saving you $ and time in the long run!
  12. If possible, set up the tables in your garage and start arranging a couple days earlier. If there is more than one family, it may take some time.
Try to keep everything all together, and have clear signs telling what each table has... "girls 12months~ 3T".
As items sell, rearrange to make tables look full, take them down if most of it's items sell and fill the other tables.
  13. Make sure you have been to the bank for change a day or two earlier.I always start with $75 in bills and $10 in quarters. Have plenty, and remember that the bank closes at noon on Sat. people will use lots of $20's. Always keep just about $100 in your change box. and keep the rest in the house.
  14.  Our kiddos always love having a little stand to sell things on Sat. they do really well. last year they made $10 in lemon-aide! I always sell coffee too, it's a great seller,( $5, on one pot.) and it makes the garage smell yummy too!
  15. Have a blast!!

I hope this helps you out a bit as you think about what to do with all your "unneeded" things.
and for me after I have a sale, I have the extra $$$ to go to Indiana and garage sale for the kiddos clothes for the next coming seasons!

Have a wonderful day. I'm getting ready for our sale next weekend! :)

Sweetest Blessings!

Modest Monday!

Monday is here again??? It's been a very busy last few weeks with lots of fellowship in our home. We've had something every night but 2. I wouldn't trade it, but I'm ready for just a bit of a break!!

This skirt was a gift from our team for my Birthday when we were in Life Action! It makes me giggle to think that after 4 babies and almost 8 years of marriage I can still get into! :)

My Trusty Jean skirt:  B Moss/ birthday gift
 Rust T~shirt: Garage Sale
Brown 3/4 jacket: Good Will
Flip Flops: American Eagle  (clearance $1.99) :)

It makes me laugh every time I post an outfit, because it always contains something from "Good Will ".  I must say that I really do like that place and it save us LOTS and LOTS of money.
I'll post this week on a awesome deal that we got. I was just blown away by the savings!!!
We'll I'm off to get my family up and running, we have just 2 weeks of school left and the kids are ready to be done. and I must say that I am too! it's been a good year!

Why Shaklee?

This weeks' Shaklee Post will be just some info on why we chose Shaklee to help supplement our income just a bit. It's been a great adventure for us.

The Shaklee Corporation is a company that makes health products that are internationally known from their effectiveness and great composition of all natural ingredients.
Roger Barnett, who is the CEO and chairman of the Shaklee Corporation, graduated from Yale Law School with an undergraduate degree and a masters in business, this enabled him to get some top jobs that eventually led him to head the Shaklee Corporation.
Already known internationally, Shaklee is very competitive in bringing the latest health products that are effective, safe and proven to the people who need them.

The Shaklee Corporation offers a wide range of products for nutrition, weight, beauty and for the home.
With 3 statements for the product philosophy, which are
“always safe”, “always works” and “always green”,
they are one of the leading health products manufacturers globally.
*Always safe – which means their products are properly tested, and are considered safe for all   types of people.
*Always works – which means that they don’t fool around with cheap gimmicks in order to make a quick buck with their clients.
*Always green – which means that they use only the highest quality natural ingredients in their products.

I know I've blogged about our cleaning products before, but I just love them, so I wanted to share a bit more with you!

didn't think I was going to like the Shaklee cleaning products as much as I do. I've been using or making my own natural cleaning products for a while now:  Simple Green, Seventh Generation, Vinegar, But guess what? I love the products!!!!!

Here is what I love the most about the Basic H2: it’s effective, it’s gentle, and it’s odorless. I never realized how much the smell of cleaning products bothered me until I was spot cleaning the carpet this weekend. Boy!!!  But you spray Basic H2 and no chemical smell comes at you. No particles get into your nose. It doesn’t bother your lungs. It’s very gentle and oddly effective at cleaning just about anything. So far I haven’t encountered any cleaning project Basic H couldn’t handle.
I was so curious how it works, because it uses sooooo little, but works sooooo well.So I asked,  Basic H2 is organic. It’s patented formula is made from corn and coconut!!

I know people who bathe their dogs in it. I even know one person who brushed her teeth with it as toothpaste. Shaklee was the first company to ever market a biodegradable cleaner and as far as I can tell Basic H2 is still the best one out there!

Jon and I are so excited the end of May we are hosting our Grand Opening Party!!!
Our Dear friends and leaders are coming in from Canada to help us celebrate!!!
We are dreaming BIG and Praying that the Lord would bless our Shaklee Business for His GLORY!

If you would like more info on Shaklee you can click on the yellow Shaklee box on the left. I'd love to send you more info, or have you join my team to help you supplement your family income!

Have a Blessed Week!!!

Sheets!!!

This is what they use to look like! :)
I've stared Spring Cleaning just a bit. and I have set out to learn how to successfully fold sheets NEATLY!!!
I use to get so frustrated at the messy closet, a try and keep everything neat. it just wouldn't work so I would just close the door and hope that they would stay put. but know how that always ended! :)
So now you can see why I have wanted to learn how to fold them NEATLY!! :)

So far so good, here's a few pix with what I have learning!

Step #1
Tucking the corners is always fun!

#2 Fold in half again!!

And again and again, and again!!!! Just keeping everything nice and flat!

Add the extra pillow case to your little stack and place them in the other pillow case. add a cute little tag and ribbon!

I love that it't all neat and you have both pillow cases, you don't have to go hunt for the pillow cases, that  somehow always seems to get lost in the closet. so nice to have them right there with the sheets! :)
Hope this helps you out as you start your spring cleaning!
Have a Blessed day!

Modest Monday

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:30

Hello!
We had just a delightful  Resurrection Sunday!
The Lord met with us as we were worshiping Him at church, in a way that  I can't remember happening in a very very long time.  It was a powerfully sweet time.
The Lord is so good!
I was hoping for a new Easter dress, but as the week went by the roads were to snowy to head to the closes mall which is about an hour and  half away, so I went to my trusty
"Good Will"  and found this cute skirt for $3. and made it work! :)

It was rather chilly so I just added my jean jacket, I was very thankful I did. :)

For Easter I got this scarf brooch,   We have this lovey little store in town that I just am falling in love with, they have beautiful scarves and super fun jewelry . I ran in on Saturday and just loved this little Brooch, and they were having a
"Big Girl Easter Egg Hunt" so I cracked open my egg and got 30% off too!  it was fun to to shop here in our own town and support Local  friends at the Chic Shack.

I just love how dainty it is!

What I Wore:
My Green and White Shirt: Good Will $3. :)
Light Green T~shirt:  Sam's Club.
Ruffle Jean Jacket: Garage Sale.
White Scarf : I made it.  I need to look for a new one.
Scarf  brooch: The Chic Shack
White Sandals : Garage Sale

Have a Wonderfully Blessed day!!
I'm off to tackle my " Mount Wash More" I think the kids must have rolled the mud all weekend, cause Boy! I think I must have 8 loads of laundry to do today! :)
Oh well, So thankful that I have a family to wash clothes for! :)
